GEOTEC goes green

As an innovative company, we believe it is our duty to mitigate and compensate the effects of climate change.

Sustainability is our objective.

By acting sustainably and responsibly, we want to create new perspectives and contribute to a more climate-neutral economy. The following projects are already contributing to this:

With a surface area of 2,200 m2, the photovoltaic system on the roof of the production building generates a total output of 291 kW. The energy generated is used for direct consumption.

Even back in 2007, when designing the production building and administrative wing, we were thinking of the future. The administration building, as well as the process water, is heated by renewable energy, i.e. geothermal heat.

We also want to counteract high CO2 emissions. So since the start of 2018, we have offered our employees a JobRad bicycle, in order to increase the proportion of the workforce who cycle to work. As a further measure, we are turning to e-mobility, and at the end of 2020 we replaced two internal combustion vehicles with plug-in hybrids.

For many years we have made drinking water available to our employees. Since the middle of last year we no longer use returnable bottles for this; instead we provide water dispensers for our employees. In this way, we have so far replaced the use of thousands of plastic bottles.
